OMG Forbes 30 under 30 Summit! Where do I even begin?
Nothing short of amazing.
Something in me had an urge to go to the summit so I signed up. I was a bit nervous because at the moment I have a full time job and don't quiet consider myself an entrepreneur, other than what I see for my self in the future.
Thank Goodness, I wasn't too intimidated to not go because it was sooo worth it and extremely motivating.
The Under 30 Summit kicked off with a Music Festival. The artist they had weren't really anyone I had a particular interest in so I popped in and out. But since you asked, what line-up they had, here you are: Jason Derulo, Halsey, Gallant, and Delta Rae.
As for the summit's panel discussions, it was split into four content stages – Tech, Create, Capital and Impact – the content stages were set up where you got to pick which stage you had an interest in and that would be your track for the entire summit. As for me, I chose the Tech stage. It seemed to closely align with what I currently do(in my day-to-day profession) and with what I plan to do with Luvonpurpose.com.
The Tech Stage took place in thee most beautiful theater I have ever seen, The Cutler Majestic Theater at Emerson College.
As you can see I clearly was OBSESSED!! Seriously, it kept distracting me from the presenters (in a good way of course. haha)!
As for the speakers they were great. They did a great job with making sure there messages were useful for anyone in the audience. Some of my faves were:
Your Cheat Codes for Success presented by Brian Wong | Co-Founder & Chief Executive Officer , Kiip
'Trust in the Sharing Economy' : A Panel Discussion from:
- Ryan Ozonian | Co-Founder & Chief Executive Officer , Dust, Dust combines the EASE of a text with the SAFETY of a private phone call.Messages on Dust can never be recovered. Unlike standard text messaging where everything you say is stored on phones or servers, Dust conversations are heavily encrypted and not accessible by anyone, not even the app owner.
- Jessica Scorpio | Founder & Vice President Marketing , Getaround,a peer-to-peer car rental service that lets you rent a stranger’s car.
- Marcela Sapone | Co-Founder & Chief Executive Officer , Hello Alfred, connects customers to people who run errands like grocery shopping or having their favorite suit cleaned and hanging in their closets.
They spoke about the emerging share economy that has us trusting strangers with our homes, cars, and personal lives. Jessica Scorpio and Marcela Sapone have created big businesses based on our trust; meanwhile, Ryan Ozonian builds off our paranoia. They talked about us understanding both. Check theirbusiness out. All very cool and insightful.
'The Future of Technology' from Doctor, healer -- and entrepreneur -- Deepak Chopra.
Deepak Chopra discussed how technology is changing the the boundaries of mind and body. Im all about mind and body connection, so his presentation was such a treat.
The 3 days were packed with endless information and valuable experiences. Check out some of the photos!:
Bruh!! We meditated with Deepak Chopra!
Met some amazing folks and made a couple 'Goal-Friends' !
Just the energy from the people I met alone filled me up and gave me so much motivation to take all my thoughts for Luvonpurpose and begin acting on them.
Over all the Summit was well worth the investment and I hope to go again in 2017. If there is a lesson I can say I took from the summit, it would be that the Future is in Tech and whatever your passion is, turn it into a career and make sure you are solving a problem.
I’ve been asking myself a lot of questions the days following the summit and they just cant seem to let up. All I can say is I am sooo excited about 2017.
